Meet Paul Your Teacher & Guide
I first picked up the guitar at age eight, when my parents enrolled me in weekly lessons with a local tutor. At the time, I had no idea how deeply that decision would shape my life not only musically, but personally.
Learning an instrument is not a short-term achievement. It’s a long-term process of attention, discipline, and patience. Over the years, guitar has led me to perform in bands, record music, and travel but its greatest impact has been quieter. Music taught me how to focus, how to work through difficulty, and how to build confidence steadily over time.
That perspective shapes how I teach.
At Lyceum Guitar Academy, lessons are structured, calm, and intentional. Students don’t just learn what to play they learn how music works, so progress lasts and confidence grows naturally.
My background spans music performance, education, philosophy, and psychology. This allows me to teach with a broader understanding of how people learn, not just how songs are played. I’ve also worked in school environments and with students facing challenges such as ADHD and Autism, and I’ve seen firsthand how music can support focus, emotional regulation, and self-expression.
Lessons are paced to suit the individual whether the student is a child beginning for the first time, a teenager building confidence, or an adult returning to guitar after years away.
Outside of music, I value health, discipline, and lifelong learning. These values inform my teaching approach, not as rules, but as foundations for growth.
When you learn at Lyceum, you’re not rushed, pressured, or pushed through shortcuts. You’re guided through a clear process that builds skill, confidence, and enjoyment step by step.
